ATTENTION I GOT THIS FROM ANOTHER GROUP: I just received this email from a retired professional at UW-Stout: I just had a call from [name] whose wife is a retired extension agent in St Croix County and is now back there working in another kind of professional job. Anyway, spread the word - she just got back from a reg...ional meeting and the word there was that Walker is saying that after he wins the recall election, he plans to push thru the legislature a plan to abolish the state retirement system and convert everyone to 401 K which will reduce our pensions by at least a third. And then he can have the rest of the money for whatever he wants. Tell everybody you know, included those already retired, because if Walker wins we are all in big trouble. This would include everybody under the State retirement system, teachers, UW, etc. This is not a rumor, he is openly talking about it in Madison, it just isn't being publicized. Remember how nobody thought he would do anything to the union. I just got this email. It is so scary. This is another major reason why we need to work to elect someone other than Walker. He has many plans and they will not be good for us. We need to work, and vote and make sure that everyone we know gets out to vote. That also means that we have to make sure that everyone is registered so that they CAN vote. Please help. Getting the signatures was important but this is more important. Send this to everyone you know and talk about what can be done if we stick together. We need to get rid of Walker and those four republican senators.

ANYWAY... I'm sure it's all (or mostly) true - it was right there in Act 10, the funding to "study" eventual privatization of the state WRS ... Gee. I wonder what the "study" will conclude (sarcasm).

This story could definitely use someone with good journalism skills to connect the dots. There aren't all that many dots - shouldnt be that hard to do.
