Early voting bill is all about voter suppression - Eugene Kane - Journal Sentinel
You would like to think the best about certain white Wisconsin politicians, but sometimes it's hard.
You would like to think most white state legislators from the suburbs or up north want the best for all voters and really don't want to hinder voter turnout in cities such as Milwaukee or Racine just because of the presence of large populations of African-Americans.
You would like to believe that the mostly white, Republican Legislature wasn't intent on passing a bill that would end early weekend voting just to suppress the political impact of the rainbow coalition of white and minority voters from all ages and backgrounds in Wisconsin that voted for President Barack Obama twice.
You'd like to think the best of the elected officials who came up with this latest Frankenstein monster of an experiment by conservatives across the nation that now has arrived on our doorsteps.
You'd like to think that. But looking at the facts, it's a hard sell.
