Wisconsin: Mary Burke, working hard to throw the election to Scott Walker

Of all the things she might have said about Scott Walker's first budget, this is what she chose to say ...

http://cognidissidence.blogspot.com/2014/05/who-should-apologize.html

BURKE: "In terms of the fiscal picture, there is no doubt that the first budget that [Walker] introduced and that he implemented significantly improved the financial situation of the state, because the state was coming out of this downturn, in 2008 and 2010, revenues were going down, there were, you know, the structural deficit grew, and basically he got rid of the structural deficit."

She might have mentioned that he kicked the can down the road by deferring needed infrastructure maintenance. She might have said that he balanced the budget on the backs of teachers and state workers to benefit his wealthy donors. But that's not what she chose to say.

I agree with this editorial comment from CogDis ...

I only wish the Democratic party were as quick to defend the workers, lower and middle class and minorities in Wisconsin as they are the republican party.

Really--5.5 million people in this state & we can't find a competent person to run for office?

After Mike Tate & the Bumblers shoved this woman down our throats, ya gotta ask yourself one small question:

WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING?

Ya gotta wonder if the party leadership is on the take from the Koch Brothers.

There is a disturbing pattern of stupid statements developing here. As many are beginning to realize, she is a terrible candidate. She should never have been "selected" as the candidate.

Earlier this year Burke said that:

...she believes the increased health care and pension contributions were appropriate.

"I do believe [state employees] paying a fair share of health care and pension costs is something we needed in order to be able to balance the budget," she told Isthmus last month.

Predictably, the comment upset Marty Beil, executive director of the Wisconsin State Employees Union, who suggested in a radio interview that Burke was unaware of the sacrifices that state employees had made in wages over the past 30 years in order to get good benefits.

"Unfortunately she makes these statements and I would hope that someone who is close to her will tell her that before she spouts off like this she needs to understand what the history is here," he told radio host John "Sly" Sylvester last month. "For her just to say they should have paid more is a stupid thing to say."

Maybe we should stop allowing the GOP to choose our candidates
