Brewers threw their season away after being in first place most of the year. That swoon was horrific
Badger football season, that thumping by Ohio State, followed by departure of another head coach ( although there is pride in knowing he had to leave because the academic standards were too tough to recruit "student" athletes)
Packer season, no comment necessary, although I am constantly reminded that it was "the biggest choke of the century"
And now last night's basketball game, up by, what was it, 8?.....another fade and another disappointment. We may never see them back in a National Championship game in our lifetimes
All things considered....its just a game as my late Uncle Bull was always reminding us....and we are lucky to be successful ( *cough* cough* (Cubs) *cough* (Bears) *cough*...)
On to more important matters: can we count on Gov. Scott Walker to fall on his face in the 2016 POTUS election?

If you are referencing Iowa sports....my buddy is an Hawkeye so I follow them...Hey, ya'll won the NCAA wrestling title
I like Iowa, great fans and great people.....the Hawkeyes are classic gutsy underdogs I enjoy following their sports programs.
Our son is getting recruited to play Iowa State football so, go Cyclones! ( now theres a team that busted a lot of NCAA brackets!)

(34,658 posts)The Packers had an excellent season, and so did the Basketball Badgers. Only one team comes out on top, and last nights loss does not negate a terrific season and a team to be proud of.

(4,450 posts)Last night hurt like hell. My ten year old son and twelve year old daughter cried themselves to sleep. But our guys played for the title. I love the legacy of Lombardi but getting to this level is a tremendous accomplishment. The loss will not diminish that, and the immediate pain we feel will pass.

(34,658 posts)I told them that's life. Wait till you get a job. Wait till you start the next 60 or 70 years of your life. It's not always going to work out the way you would like it to. But you measure a person by what it takes to discourage them.
