Related: About this forumHas anyone heard of this new caucus? Wis. Legislative Sportsman Caucus?
It is new "bipartisan" group that just formed & had their meeting Feb 25th. It is an offshoot of a national group of which Paul Ryan was a chair.
I was wondering why now....I am feeling that some GOP outdoorsmen& women, and many DEM as well, are not happy with the way wanker has been handling the DNR and outdoors issues.
I am also thinking that Wanker's policies were mainly a reaction to that iron mine up north, and now that it is shuttered if there will be a redirect....to whatever the Kochs want next

(7,286 posts)But I think hunters, fishers, enviromentalists, conservationists, native Americans, and outdoors folks of all stripes can get along when they face a common goal....kinda like they did to stop the Mole Lake mine, or when compromised was reached on tribal spearing
The common goal in my pipe dream is stopping Scott Walker. The timing of this has me hopeful

Ryan was a previous chair. So was Ron Kind, a Dem from La Crosse. This was for the national group
The new state caucus has co-chairs from both parties in assembly and senate, and yes I am hearing it is to lobby for changes to walkers budget regarding outdoor issues. Some GOPers are hearing from their constituents
they are having an informal get together/ meeting in March sponsored by DU and attended by and several other conservation groups that are on record as opposed to the budget changes
March 18th open to public

(7,286 posts)I think it's an old campaign shot. The look on his face is just city slicker.
He also used opening morning of deer hunting as a photo op and was roundly knocked for using that cherished tradition in the state as a political ploy. He came in at noon and that was the end of the season for him. The deer are safe from this guy he just ain't country
