And no doubt this horror will be the model Repubs will follow to destroy public universities going forward.

And you're right, this was a hell of a great school for a long time. I would know I am a graduate and a faculty member.

Now it's over. Goodbye Bucky Badger, it was a hell of a run.

They have no idea what they have just done. Some of them MAY actually live to regret this.

North Carolina, Louisiana, and now Wisconsin. My daughter's college Iowa State still has open reqs out for engineering faculty.

I simply cannot imagine that a jewel such as UW is being cast into the dirt.

This place will, figuratively, be burned to the ground, all to further the presidential ambitions of one Scott Kevin Walker, and because of the spiteful anger of popcorn magnate Robin Vos.

Is it gerrymandering? The war on education is not only obvious in Wisconsin but also in Kansas and many other places. But the war on education has not just begun recently, it began with people that require things that they can touch and feel. Once testing became the primary focus of education, the war was lost.

Testing transforms education into currency. I'm not saying testing isn't valid, but we now teach for improved testing rather than being thoughtful or curious. Thoughtfulness and curiosity cannot be measured and are therefore worthless to ignorant folk.

If stupid people are now in charge of education, what should be our expectation.

Try explaining the value of the Socratic method to an idiot.
