Disputed Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Headline Draws Fire

http://www.politiscoop.com/us-politics/wisconsin-politics/1394-disputed-milwaukee-journal-sentinel-headline-draws-fire.html

Milwaukee – On May 17, 2012, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published this article which caught the attention of readers when the headline changed from a generic job loss headline to this: “Controversial state survey shows April job loss” to “Disputed state survey shows April job loss”. The headline switcheroo caught the attention of the blog Uppity Wisconsin, who quickly pointed out that:

Today the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel demonstrated who is really in charge of the paper: Scott Walker.

Initially, after the jobs report, they put up an article that had a headline and first paragraph that followed the same format as all of their other monthly BLS job report articles that they have been running for the last 30+ years:

State loses 6,200 private sector jobs in April

Wisconsin lost an estimated 6,200 private-sector jobs in April, according to preliminary data released Thursday by the state Department of Workforce Development.

Then, Scott Walker and Co. got their claws inton someone at the paper and the article suddenly changed to:

Controversial Survey Shows Estimated April Job Losses of 6,200

... bill, it was one pro-mining shill and one pro-pro-mining shill. Both recommended proceeding with the mine that nobody wanted.

They have not retracted their endorsement of Walker, despite his corruption divisive tactics and failed policies.
