A Pictorial History
"The epicenter of the labor movement resurgence and citizen uprisings in America started in Madison, WI. . . .
As a freelance photographer, I have chronicled these protests with over 10,000 hi-resolution images inside the walls of the capitol, on the streets, and suspended in the air--from the Zombie Rights Parade (ravaged, para-human costumers) looking for politicians with "brains" to the rally remembering the immortal words of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.--these photos depict the breadth, scope and intensity of the protests. My press credentials gave me access only a few enjoyed.
A book of images is being created, titled "The Winter of Our Discontent
this is what democracy looks like! Many of the images document the evolution of homemade signs that are poignant and sometimes hilarious. There were parades, rallies, organized stage events, sleep-ins, night vigils, etc. Gatherings were in the snow, the rain, and the dead of winter, with a sprinkling of sunshine now and then. The ground swell that started it all began here, at the Wisconsin State Capitol."
