Workshop on political strategies in rural areas on Saturday in Eau Claire
This was posted on Uppity Wisconsin and may be of interest to DUers in the rural sections of Wisconsin.
Join Senator Kathleen Vinehout and fellow progressives this Saturday, August 18th from 10am-3pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eau Claire for a one-day workshop on developing a rural strategy tailored to your county's unique situation in the political world (event details below).
We learned from the 2010 election and the recent recall elections that we cannot win in rural areas with the same old strategies. Party leaders and campaign staff focus their strategies on urban areas, where the "low-hanging fruit" is in easy-to-reach clusters. We need to take the initiative and create a rural outreach strategy that successfully promotes progressive ideals and works to elect progressive Democratic candidates in rural areas.
