Hello neighbors.....

I was wondering if any of you do genealogy? I have some paternal Quebec genealogy I am trying to do for my Kids.

I've come to the conclusion that I do not understand enough about Canadian records to have any success. I'm just an amateur who does genealogy for a hobby. I have done their fathers tree here in the US but can't to go back further in Quebec.

I'd appreciate any help/suggestions offered. I would also volunteer to trade or give any help I can about the US.

Thanks, LS

for Canada, but I have found the Quebec marriages are iffy.

Many of my kin jumped back and forth over the border doing logging.

Send me a PM if you want me to look someone up.

If it's the Canadian one I will take you up on that offer. I have a subscription to the US one. Thanks, LS

They even sent me a card certifying me as a researcher when I obtained some records through the office. Perhaps Quebec has the same kind of services.

5. I called initially to inquire about a birth record for my father.

Then had several exchanges by email. When the birth record came in the snail mail, the card was included and that was a nice surprise.

I've never heard of them before. A couple of times I did visit a American-French Genealogical Society in Woonsocket, RI but didn't find anything new on my line. Maybe this one in NH will have more information. Thanks again, LS

I actually have belonged to that group for a long, long time.

Edit to add: And they are great. I just get a little embarrassed to keep asking them for help even though they wouldn't mind at all.

I contacted the places mentioned here and was refered to the Quebec Family History Society http://www.qfhs.ca/

With help from them, I have now been able to expand one of my lines back to France in the 1850s and I have also found an unknown mother in that same line. I now have to work on that mother's line!

Thank you all for taking the time to help me break that brick wall!
