As Julian Fantino flounders, how did a Toronto beat cop make $300,000 on election robocalls in 2011?

The new week has seen continuing disapproval across the political spectrum, and, as Elections Canada continues to investigate Fantino's spending for the 2011 federal election, new questions should be asked regarding how an upstart robocall company managed to pull down hundreds of thousands of dollars in work from Conservative candidates even before it had been formally incorporated federally on 27 June 2011.

Multiple ElectRight incorporation papers register the company to Toronto police Sergeant Brett McFarquhar's home address. ElectRight's haul was $289,999.87, all from Conservative Party of Canada candidates. McFarquhar, decorated in 2003 by then Toronto Police Chief Fantino, can be seen in uniform on a police bicycle in a photo used for his twitter account @Sgt_Brett.

Former top"cop Julian Fantino and his political master Stephen Harper likely hoped the weekend would bring reprieve from the torrent of criticism over the closure of several veterans Affairs offices and Fantino's lack of respect for those affected. No such luck.
