Rebekah Brooks charged over phone hacking allegations
Former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks was formally charged with phone hacking and will appear in court next month, Scotland Yard have said.Brooks, 44, answered bail at Lewisham police station and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 3 September.
Six other journalists from the News of the World, including David Cameron's former spin doctor Andy Coulson, have been officially charged and will appear at the same court on 16 August.

Formally charged? That means our celebration lubrication has moved on from Aldi's super cheap lager in a plastic bottle (six bottles for about the price of a box of Swan Vestas) to a chilled can of Warsteiner from the local filling station. That's a hell of a jump.
