Goodnight from him! Ronnie Corbett quits showbusiness after being hospitalised with mystery illness

Ronnie Corbett will say it's goodnight from him for the final time after a TV career that has spanned six decades, his wife revealed today.

Anne Corbett, who married the star in 1965, said the 83-year-old comic is quitting showbusiness after he was rushed to hospital suffering from chest pains.

Corbett underwent tests for several days last week before being discharged in time to attend the memorial of close friend Sir David Frost.

Corbett fell ill at his home near Croydon in south London last Sunday when he suffered chest and stomach pains and felt nauseous, it was reported.
