Anne Maguire murder: Will Cormick sentenced to life

A 16-year-old boy has been given a life sentence after he admitted murdering Leeds teacher Ann Maguire.

Will Cornick stabbed Mrs Maguire, 61, seven times in the back and neck at Corpus Christi Catholic College, then sat down and said "good times". ...

The prosecutor said Mrs Maguire fled but was chased by Cornick, who was "stabbing her as she sought to escape"....

He knew what he was doing; he didn't try to get away afterwards; he knew he would end up in prison for many years (and, at least at one stage, thought that might be good "so as not to have to worry about life or money&quot . To a layman, he does sounds psychopathic, and also nihilistic - thinking a life in prison is worth giving in to a short term impulse of hatred that doesn't produce any benefit for himself at all.
