Prof. Stephen Hawking calls David Cameron a ‘right twat’ on Twitter

Outspoken Labour supporter and smartest man on the planet, Stephen Hawking, took to Twitter today to announce his plans to vote Labour in the General Election, call the Prime Minister David Cameron a ‘right twat’ and that he should ‘shut his posho mouth if he knows what’s good for him.’

With only 9 days to go until the General Election, tensions are high and celebrity endorsements are coming in from all angles. Katie Hopkins has publicly endorsed the Conservatives. Kriss Akabusi has pledged his support to the SNP. Musical Theatre impresario and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber was published in the Mail On Sunday publicly slamming Ed Miliband and Nicola Sturgeon. But, the most unusual endorsement has come from renown brain-box Prof. Stephen Hawking.

Mr Hawking, often considered the smartest man on the planet, made headlines this morning by endorsing the Labour party which descended into a petty twitter spat with David Cameron. He tweeted the Prime Minister threats of physical violence.

Mr Cameron, obviously upset by threats against him, responded with a tweet of a Vine showing the incumbent Prime Minister performing 8 seconds of Michael Flatley’s Lord of The Dance, which was later deleted. A source close to the PM quipped that the tweet was a ‘step too far’, then laughed.

The bizarre exchange lasted all of 5 minutes.

No sign of that "quote" or any interaction about it on that @stephenhawking_ account, though he is on record as supporting Labour in this election.

Even given my own low opinion of Cameron, I have doubts he "responded with a tweet of a Vine showing the incumbent Prime Minister performing 8 seconds of Michael Flatley’s Lord of The Dance, which was later deleted," as reported in that article.

I also have niggling doubts about a few other headlines on that site, such as "Leaked email reveals that David Miliband, 'probably going to vote Green anyway,'" "68% of Primary School Pupils Believe Piers Morgan is Prime Minister," and "Man arrested for 'having sex with the North Sea.'"

The reputed Hawking twitter account isn't verified. Even if that were Hawking's real account, there are easy ways to spoof tweets like http://www.lemmetweetthatforyou.com/ which have fooled quite a few people over recent months.

....is showing no tweets since 16 December 2011.

Furthermore, I'm sure that if this were genuine then it would have already been all over my own twitterfeed instead of people complaining that Brewdog aren't as good as they used to be.

Stephen Hawking does support Labour, but that's hardly his typical language style.

Nor is it Cameron's style to perform in this way.

Sounds like a couple of teenagers impersonating them.

(I know this was a spoof-but wouldn't it be great if Labour put Dr. Hawking in an election broadcast saying that line?)
