Post-punk band Squeeze used a performance on the BBC's Andrew Marr Show to protest against fellow guest David Cameron.
They changed the lyrics of hit Cradle to the Grave to sing the line: "There are some here who are hell bent on the destruction of the welfare state."...
A BBC spokeswoman said producers had not been aware of Squeeze's protest beforehand.
Downing Street said it was not commenting on the performance.

(2,025 posts)Who says the devil has the best tunes? Tory musicians include the late Cilla Black, peado Jonathan King and Cliff bloody Richard. No thanks.

(2,560 posts)I know the cops took away some stuff from his place after allowing the BBC to film the raid. But has he been charged?
Don't get me wrong. If Cliff is guilty as accused, he should be locked up Harris.
And if I weren't an atheist, I'd be wishing Saville would be burning in hell.
And what has Cilla done wrong? I know she was right-wing, but most of her music was OK. Not a fan, admittedly.

(2,025 posts)And I've done a disservice to Cilla Black by putting her in the same sentence as those two.
I just hated her music and her ubiquity on the television until recently. She fronted a lorra shows when we only had four channels or less, taking up valuable airspace from something that wouldn't put my teeth on edge.

(7,222 posts)You've replied to the original post (OP), not to SwissTony.
It's not a big deal, but it means that unless SwissTony checks out this group again, he won't know you've replied to him - the forum software lights up your "My Posts" tab up top whenever someone replies to a post of yours, and you can click on it and follow a link to the post in question (if you've posted a few times recently, it helps you to keep on top of things) - and it'll also make discussions more difficult for you as they won't be threaded properly and people will likely get confused.
To reply to a specific post within a thread, click on the "Reply to this post" link at the bottom right of the post. To reply to the OP, click on the big blue "Reply to this thread" button at the bottom of the thread.

(2,560 posts)I once gave some some travel advice about travelling in Australia (I'm an Aussie) in a statistical forum (I'm also a statistician). Message to self - don't post in two forums at the same time. Or is it "fora"? I can never tell.
I couldn't blame alcohol at the time.

(7,222 posts)And it definitely wasn't intended as a criticism of Bad Dog.
Under the surface, this is quite sophisticated forum software - some of the features may not be apparent to new folks.

(2,025 posts)I have sussed the difference but I thought it looked neater just posting down the line. Don't know why that's important, but that's why I did it. I'll try not to do it again, still trying to get used to the etiquette.
Thanks again.

(7,222 posts)It really wasn't a complaint, just intended as a friendly pointer. It'd be more important in busier threads, especially where some of the more heated ones tend to "go diagonal" across the page to the limits of the threading display - meaning that a couple or more of us are having at it at some length ...
