Santorum could be bigger threat to Romney

Mr. Romney lost Iowa to Rick Santorum, albeit by about the narrowest possible margin. He will have two more opportunities to win a Midwestern state on Tuesday, when Minnesota has its caucuses and Missouri holds a primary. (The Missouri primary does not matter for delegate selection: the state will hold a separate caucus for that purpose in March.)

Mr. Romney could be vulnerable in both states. A survey released on Sunday by Public Policy Polling, which has had fairly accurate results so far in the primary season, had Minnesota as a toss-up /a>between Mr. Romney and Mr. Santorum, with Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul not far behind.

Today, Santorum (Dick-1) says women shouldn't be in combat because male soldiers feel an obligation to 'protect' them. I'm a retired female soldier, in after Nam, but, Panama, Honduras, Cuba, Kosovo..and no male felt they needed to protect me! Even the blind can 'SEE' he's talking out his rectum! He should've been in the military himself just for the experience....instead of making 7 kids, that way he'd know how it is. And if he's trying to use the JFK 'catholic religion' theme...he's way too late!! And the asprin remark was from the 60's.

Romney could win the nomination. I hope Newt wins it. Rick Santorum (Dick #1), and Rick Perry (Dick #2) are getting 1/2 the votes in the Blue states they've been to. Basically, eliminating each other. Gingrich has misspoken a few times, but so has Romney with 10K bet in Iowa. Of course he did get the Trump endorsement. To me, thats like throwing your used toilet paper in an overflowing toilet! But, good luck anyway!! America is on the right track. It isn't like it could change overnight after 2 Bushes screwed it up!

Because as we have seen the Republican base does not want Romney. The King makers in the RNC have been unable to overcome his negatives and Santorum resonates with primary voters. But if Santorum were to win the nomination, there is no way he could possible win the election. Primary voters tend to be extreme both on the right and the left. But in the general election, it is the independents that decide who becomes president.

However, it still remains to be seen how much the 1% are willing to throw behind the Republican candidate and just how far they are willing to go to get their guy elected. Not to mention, they could always steal the election like they did for Bush twice...
