If Doug Jones wins the 2017 AL US Senate Race and legislates like a moderate to liberal Democrat,

He should be the 2020 Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee. As the 2020 Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee, Jones can help the 2020 Democratic Presidential Nominee win FL,GA,NC,and TX-states Trump won in 2016 by a narrow to high single digit margin. Jones could also put AL,LA,MS,SC,and TN in play.
Jones being on the 2020 Democratic Presidential/Vice Presidential ticket can also help Democratic US Senate nominees in Southern states.
AL-Jones-D can decide against seeking re-election to the US Senate to focus on becoming the next VPOTUS. AL Democrats can nominate Former AL Supreme Court Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb. Cobb can defeat the Moore loving Republican nominee.
GA-( Perdue-R) vs Former US Congressman and current GA Secretary of State John Barrow-D. DEM GAIN.
LA-(Cassidy-R) vs Former LA Lt Governor and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu-D
MS-(OPEN-Cochran-R) vs Former MS Attorney General and 2019 Democratic Nominee for Governor Jim Hood-D
NC-(Tillis-R) vs Former NC State Treasurer Janet Cowell-D DEM GAIN.
SC-(Graham-R) vs Former SC Governor Jim Hodges-D
TN-(OPEN-Alexander-R) vs Current Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke-D
TX-( Cornyn-R) vs US Congressman Joaquin Castro-D DEM Gain
VA-Warner-D wins re-election.
