Democrats have greater opportunity of regaining control of the US Senate in 2022 than 2020.

In 2020- Only one Democratic held US Senate seat up for re-election in 2020 will go Republican- AL(Jones-R). In order to regain control of the US Senate in 2020- Democrats need to win five Republican held US Senate seats up for Re-election in 2020- CO(Gardner-R),AZ special(McSally-R),NC(Tillis-R),GA(Perdue-R),and IA(Ernst-R). If 2020 is anything like 2016 in which whatever political party wins the US Presidential Election in the individual state will win the US Senate Election in that state. Democrats will lose AL, gain CO. 47D 53R.
In 2022 with a Democrat in the White House- The highly competitive Democratic held US Senate seats up for re-election in 2022 are CO(Bennet-D), NV(Cortez Masto-D) and NH(Hassan-D). Democrats will hold onto AZ,CO,NV,and NH. Democrats will need to win three Republican held US Senate seat up for Re-election in 2022- PA(Toomey-R), WI(OPEN Johnson-R), and NC(OPEN Burr-R).

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Republican party might be called something else by then.

People have short attention spans, short memory spans ... Two years of democrats in the house and a whole lot of lies from republicans, fox news and trump and we might lose any chance of taking the senate too.

If trump lasts until the next election, well... given his history.. it's just going to get worse and worse .. so maybe we have a shot anyway haha... as long as he keeps attacking the rights of women and minorities and killing immigrant children ... maybe we can win. *sigh*

No, the poster does NOT think tRump is going to moderate his behavior. The poster explicitly wrote it is "going to get worse", explicitly saying tRump will NOT moderate his behavior.

Yes, poster has a pessimistic take, but it is a reasonable view and should be taken on board as a possible bad outcome. Democrats can do this without reducing any resistance, without letting up on the pressure on RepubliCon-Trump lies, trickery, and skulduggery. Democrats, liberals, and progressives can accept that there are sometimes negative results and yet maintain our over-all optimism.

coming to Jesus to forget or forgive him enough to sit the next election out, forgetting that that election is in fact is one that will be directly about cheetolini.

The downside is, of course, that there are not enough Republican Senate seats available to turn it Blue. 2022, however, there will be. But we will need to defend our own incumbents in both houses and so far cheetolini has proven to be best campaigner for Democrats than we could ever hope for.

I read him just right. I think his hair's on fire, but I voted not to remove his comment on the jury I was called to.
