2006 US Senate Election cycle was the last time Democrats regained control of the US Senate. Democrats gained 6 seats.

2020 US Senate Election cycle- Democrats need a net gain of 4 seats to regain control of the US Senate. Democrats will lose 1 seat(AL-Jones-D). Democrats need to win 5 Republican held US Senate seats up in 2020.
