The new Malwarebytes (MBAM) v2.0 looks "Rogue"-ish IMHO- My rant...

Featuring lots of garish red, orange, etc 400 x 150 popups (Popups? We ain't got no popups. We don't need no popups! I don't have to show you any stinkin' popups!) screaming HOLY SH*T YOUR SH*T'S ON FIRE! FIX IT BUCKO!...it's numerous nagging reminders to upgrade to full version...etc... To the average or novice user this can be unnerving, to say the least.

It's still a GREAT product, I just don't like it's "Rogue-ish" GUI & popups. I DETEST popups. Other AV's like Norton LOOOOVE popups. People HATE Norton.

Fix it MBAM. /end

Once it's updated and runs the first scan it looks a lot better, even the free version. hobbit709 Mar 2014 #1

Of course I bought a stack of paid for versions a couple of years ago when they were on sale for $9.95

As far as the screen goes, look at all the red and warnings on the real Windows Security Alert screen.

Running W7 here... dunno what that is, if I have it then I have it turned off. Are you referring to UAC? I have it turned off too.

In 7 it's the action center screen.
Of course I tweak the hell out of the settings on mine.
My Windows 8 gaming laptop took 3 hours of tweaking before it behaved properly. But it now looks and feels like 7.

I have all that turned off too. I keep a library of updates post SP1 & use this DISM script to update my install ISO and Win Toolkit to add drivers, tweaks, reg file tweaks, themes, hotfixes, program add-ons etc... and save it to a bootable USB stick. Recently added an SSD & did a clean re-install on my lappy in under an hour & a half... of course I had image backups in case things went BLOOEY.

Haven't decided yet if I want to use the image or make a fresh install just to clean out the clutter. Adding a 480 Gb SSD and an NVidia GTX650 Ti card. Already has an AMD FX-8350 OC'd to 5GHz and 16 Gb RAM.

because it is tabletafied and post modern flat design.

Still a great program nonetheless!
