No pop3 support on Microsoft 8.1 in office outlook. AT&T will charge me for
the technical support to connect my account. If they have the info, then it must be out there somewhere for free. Any suggestions?

(3,270 posts)They did away with Outlook Express a while ago. You can get a copy of Microsoft Office Outlook (not the same as Outlook Express) or download one of the many free third-party apps out there that do support POP3.

(14,725 posts)I so appreciate it. Perhaps I am not being clear or am just unable to get the difference. Here is the explanation for what is going on: "Millions of users have email accounts that rely on POP3 mail servers. Many ISPs even give their users POP accounts by default, but dont tell that to Microsoft as the company steadfastly refuses to support POP3 in Windows 8′s built-in email.
You have no particular obligation to use the built-in Windows Mail, but it is currently the only email client for Modern UI. You can install any of dozens of desktop email applications including Windows Live Essentials mail, Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. However, if you want to use the built-in Mail with a POP account, theres a workaround that involves routing your messages through an online service such as Gmail, Hotmail or Outlook.com."
I need and want to use my old at&t account with my current address but can't figure out how to do it. So far I am just using my old computer.
