Printer stopped printing complete pages and puts 3 pages on 1 sheet of paper in an odd way.
So after googling an electrical issue I found the solution in a link from DU so I'm trying here for my printer issue.
Epson Artisan 810 printer
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit | Mac Pro OS X 10.6.8 also
So I had this printer working with my Windows laptop wirelessly without issue. Yesterday I tried to print something that was short, took up about 1/3 of a page but I had it copied at the top of 3 pages. Print preview looked fine but then when I printed it it came out so that just the first line of pg.1 printed, then a little ways down, about 1/3 or so, part of pg.2 printed, a little more than pg.1 but not much more. Then a little past 1/2 down the sheet pg.3 printed in its entirety. I tried printing only pg.1 but it only printed the first line that time also. (almost as if it's leaving room for pg.2 to "overlap" pg.1 and pg.3 to "overlap" pg.2)
So I uninstalled all the Epson software and drivers and reinstalled. Same thing. I turned printer off and on again. Same thing. I did a factory reset on the printer. Same thing. I did a factory reset on printer and reinstalled drivers again before trying. Same thing. I connected the printer to my Mac Pro using the usb cable, installed the drivers, same thing.
I looked through the printer settings and found that the paper was set to A4 (which I didn't know what that was at the time) and bi-directional was on. I changed paper selection to letter and turned off bi-directional and still same thing.
I used Open Office rtf and Write and both did same thing. On the Mac I made a text document in Text Edit or whatever that generic text app is called that comes with OS X.
There's only one thing I can think of that I may have done in some settings somewhere where I may have tried to print something for a cd cover in booklet style so I could fold it over. I'm not sure I ever did that though. It's been months since I've printed anything and I don't remember for sure if I tried to do that. I know that I did use a trial of some cd cover app but I don't know what it was called and I printed that and I'm sure that's the last thing I printed. Okay, looks like that program was called Easy CD & DVD Cover Creator v4.13. I'm going to uninstall that and see if that does anything but I can't imagine that would do it.
Any ideas on what I can try? I've sent an email to Epson support. Hopefully they know what to do. I came up with one person that seems to have the same problem doing a search and there was no solution.

(15,512 posts)It sounds like you've got a multi-page preference set somewhere, so go to print a doc, but just before you click the final "okay" in the print routine, click "preferences" and look carefully at every tab to make sure everything is set correctly. If there's a "default" button, click it. Each printer has its own set of preferences, so there's no telling exactly where the problem is without having that printer installed, but it shouldn't be too hard to spot.
good luck!

(19,926 posts)Epson emailed back with the suggestion of trying to print from a different program. So helpful. I already told them I tried on two different computers. Doh.
I just tried to do a system restore but I've been changing the drivers so much in the last 24 hours I can only go back to yesterday. I would suspect that it has to do with a windows update except that it's happening on my Mac as well. I saw a thread on a Mac site where people were having trouble printing (but were able to scan) so they installed the driver from the newer model. Not the same problem but since that driver worked for this printer I'm going to try that now.
Thanks!
