My computer keeps offering a free Windows 10 upgrade.

Should I take it?

I thought I was on Windows 7, but it's possible that at some point it upgraded to 8, because I keep getting messages that I have one upgrade for Windows 8. I am using a Toshiba.

1. I wouldn't upgrade to 10 unless you have a specific need to do so right now.

3. YW. One thing they don't tell you is that some of your hardware (printers, scanners and the like)

may not have drivers for Windows 10 so might not work with it.

4. Just found out I'm at Windows 8.1

The system keeps crashing after every update, but it usually settles itself out. Not sure how that one sneaked in.

5. 8.1 was a real improvement over 8

I think if you noticed at all that you were happy that one snuck in.

10 will be a real improvement, but, yes, wait. You have until late July 2016 to accept the free upgrade.

6. I was running Win7, and about to say "Fuck It", & reinstall xp.

My Win 7 started offered me an upgrade to Win8, which I declined.
Then, a few years later, I started getting a pop up saying I could upgrade to Win10.
I thought, Why not? I can always blow it out and reinstall Win98SE.

I'm still finding my way around, but it IS noticeably faster, and I haven't even turned off the features I don't use yet.

I am happy with what I have, and I don't download lots of movies and such...Most of the time, it moves fast enough for me.
Is it important to upgrade with what I just wrote???
