Scanner/Windows 10

Why can I scan from my computer but I can't scan from the scanner (i.e., push the button and it scans)?

I properly downloaded the Brother software, etc. and it's on the computer.

I would prefer to have the button back.

Any suggestions or comments please?

...print/scan/copy/fax type unit, there is an option during the installation to "register" the computer on which you're installing the software as the target for scanning via the "scan" button on the unit.

The printer is able to be network connected and installed on several computers. Pressing the scan button and having a computer receive the image requires having the unit set to know which computer to send it to.

Try reinstalling the software and watching for that notice. Look for the words "register" and "scan to".
