Tried to find answer re Win 10 upgrade, no luck. Please advise:

I am too old to worry about the Win 10 upgrade. If I'm around after 2020 when the updates stop, I'll worry about it then.

Like so many of us, I get daily-or- several times daily, the upgrade notice. I X out of the pop-up. Several times I have checked installed programs on (Win 7) and the damn KB3035583 is back. I have un-installed it several times but it comes back on my PC, not the back yet on laptop.

I am a computer idiot so I don't know how to stop this permanently. I feel I'm being harassed by MS. Leave me the heck alone.
Can you tell me, when the 'free upgrade' stops later this month, does the danger of an MS upgrade(without my permission) go away. Can I then forget about it?

I am a simple computer user and don't need or want all this baloney. Was happy w/XP, Win 7 does the job. I don't want anything else.!!!!!

However, I don't work for MS, so they could continue trying to pressure people.

2. I created a file and use "taskkill" to kill the gwx* notifications and popups.

I also kill a few other things, but they're trash gaming programs that came with my video card and autoload on startup.

Microsoft so loved the spying facilities (called telemetry) built into Windows 10 that last year they backported some of them to Windows 7 and 8 via the Windows updates.

5. There are 3 or 4 Win 7 updates that trigger it:

KB-2952664 - Compatibility update for upgrading Windows 7
KB-3035583 - Get Win 10
KB-3123862 - Updated capabilities to upgrade Windows 8.1 and Windows 7

So you have to hide those and check that they don't come back or get unhidden. Basically check each Win 7 update (not the various security updates, just the Win 7 updates) by clicking "more info" on the right and reading the description.
