Best replacement for "windows live photo gallery"?

I used it extensively, and liked the ‘slide tools’ for adjusting tint, etc.

I did a ‘windows reinstall’ this week and ‘windows essentials’ disappeared taking the photo gallery with it.
I know Microsoft stopped supporting and downloading it in 2017.

I’ve seen a few sites promising to reinstall ‘windows live photo gallery’ to Windows 10.
They download but none will install.

Can you please suggest a free download of a good photo editor,
or if you know
how can I manage a reinstall of ‘windows live photo gallery’ to my Windows 10?
