Help....a white screen is a bad sign

Correct?
I was getting rid of a virus and had just wiped my computer and reloaded everything when this big white screen appeared and does not seem to want to go away from my Samsung NC 10 notebook. Not good , huh....

Well, it should be fine then if you don't move it, bump it, or type on it. HopeHoops May 2012 #6
It's that damn thin film ribbon cable between the motherboard and the screen. hobbit709 May 2012 #7

What were you reloading? What did you have installed? Is anything working?

I ran it by Hobbit's place and he said it was likely a hardware problem when I am opening and closing it. It had a spontaneous healing for the moment. Fingers crossed it holds.

Thanks for asking!

Hobbit says it is my laptop's connection at the lid that opens and closes. It seems to have healed itself for the moment.

- I actually hate when things go magic and fix themselves because then I'm still left with the curiosity about what the hell was wrong with it in the first place! Cars are notorious for that - weird noise that suddenly disappears when you take it to the shop.

Put the lid in just the right position and everything goes flaky. Move the screen back or forward about a half inch and it works just fine.

Seen this on more than one laptop.
