Gmail was buggy with composing mail, so sprang for paying Outlook, now *IT* did the bug today

I suppose I've got some kind of corruption/malware/whatever.

But a couple or more years ago, when all I used was gmail, it was a real pain when composing an email it would suddenly disappear and not be found again either by the Back arrow or anything.

Actually, sometimes this would happen on DU when tapping out an extra long post, typing "fast" and hitting two keys with one finger - and poof, all gone.

So after much frustration with losing text, I sprang for paying for Outlook and maybe had the two-keys finger problem occasionally, but today with a gmail after doing all the time and work, the whole thing went extremely BUGGY - didn't all disappear, but parts did and there was some gibberish distorted text. Back arrow didn't work.

And usually this happens when there's no time to re-do the whole thing. Today I made the time to re-do it first on gmail, then on Outlook and it just wouldn't work.

My solution was to keyboard it into a blank DU post, Copy the finished thing into a new Outlook email. Before this, also used to type the whole thing into a Word document, then Copy it into email.

But is something going on with the 'net?

The cursor was in front of the letters I was typing. Never seen that before!

Closed the site and when I went back in, it worked.

Actually - twitter acting up too rn!

multiple times and didn't fix things?! Anyway, closing the site and going back in fixed.

Other gremlins with the 'net today - anyone else experiencing this?

or are you using a web-based outlook client?

Is this Windows, or phone, or?

9. Okay, I have the exact same scenario on mine. If you can describe steps to reproduce it

I'm happy to try and see if I can repro on my machine if you'd like

Apart from that ... not too sure what to say other than leveraging another app to compose in, if it's going to be an elaborate/time-consuming email ... is a good if inconvenient work-around.

I don't think it's a corruption/malware, btw. I suspect even the installed Outlook actually runs on a browser instance (customized to not look like a browser) so having similar problems with web-based gmail and installed outlook both ... is not that shocking to me.

text with distorted graphics/lines.

Before it was just all text DISAPPEARED. There are no *steps* to give you. As I said it was basically hitting two random keys simultaneously accidentally. Today was different.

My workarounds were to re-do everything in either Word or in a DU dummy post. But the two keys prob disappears text in DU, too.

Today was DIFFERENT.

Answering tons of technical questions is as usual way above my pay grade and time consuming, especially here pecking on phone with one finger. And subject to being frustratingly disappeared.

Another of my workarounds, this for disappearing text in DU, is to Post halfway through which seals it in, then Edit to finish it.
