it's now being routed through Ping!Pong! engine. I didn't put that on as far as I can tell.
Just don't understand when strange things show up on my PC.

Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo? Also which web browser are you using? What is your Home page when you start your browser?
Homepage is iGoogle. Use IE.

Try setting up Firefox to iGoogle as the home page. If that works, put the same url from Firefox into IE and see if that works.
