Google search has been hijacked on my IE browser
I tried several "highly rated" spyware software that are freebies but nothing works.
Does anyone know a truly great spyware software that can get rid of this problem--and this point I am willing to pay for a software if it will truly fix this problem (I also have similar problems in Foxfire and Chrome)?

(9,612 posts)if you're having problems with all three browsers, most likely some spyware hacked that file to point traffic intended for "google.com" to a different site.
Search through the file for any references to "google" and delete them.
I also recommend Spybot Search and Destroy if that isn't one you've tried yet. Also look into AdAware.

(23,208 posts)I had a hijacker about a year ago. Went thru almost $400 on other AV programs and multiple freeware progs. AVG was the first one to actually work. It had a good registry cleaner, which is what you'll need, if my experience is any guide.
