WinAmp and .flv files..

I'm having a problem with LameXP. But that's not why I'm here.

I have .flv files I want to play. WinAmp will play SOME of them, and the others not at all. That's why I was trying to use Lamxp.
So, I am using Final Video Downloader to reformat (encode). But it takes forever and sucks up every bit of juice my system has.

What could be going on here with WinAmp?

I am not much of a multi media person. tia

if it comes to that. I can convert the files. And I'd rather stick with WinAmp. I just don't understand why it will play some and not others.

its very simple and does not rely on the codecs installed on your computer. all self contained.
its definitely good to have as a backup.
When installing, unclick the associate files option so you regular program will still try to play them when double clicking.

I guess that is the easiest solution. LameXP worked on my audio files. Maybe it's not meant to recode video..

I will try this, and look at the one suggested by Lionessa.

I appreciate the help
