My sweetie sill has a 1GB 260 in her system and it plays WOW< DIII, Guild Wars II wonderfully....I still use a 5770...

(5,400 posts)I'm a bit of a video card enthusiast, currently running a HD 7950, and I do my homework before upgrading so I think I know a thing or two.
A card like that is generally for people who use multiple monitors and game at very high resolutions with high quality anti aliasing.
Even then such a card is likely to be overkill.

Edit: Bear in mind, that review was written during the early days for nVidia's and AMD's latest cards. Their newest drivers, the software that runs the hardware, has dramatically increased performance in lots of games.
