disappearing "My Posts" tab - edit: seems to be resolved see post 2

Last edited Tue May 7, 2013, 12:12 PM - Edit history (1)

a short while ago the "My Posts" tab and the yellow banner announcing new replies disappeared from my screen. I could only access the "My Posts" page from the link at the bottom of a page.

Windows 7, Firefox, DU Classic view.

I cleaned cache/history/cookies and restarted, re-logged in to DU and it was still gone. I was playing around and could just see it kind of incomplete,"floating" over the blue live link location text, only when on the actual "My Posts" page, no others that I tried.

As I was about to post this I realized trying to describe the tab location, that I normally have my fonts enlarged to the point where that tab drops off the main tab line to a second line below the main one, so I tried reducing the enlargement (ctrl -) and there it was - it came back at the right hand end of the line of tabs. But when I try to go back to my larger format it disappears again.

I have had it set the larger way with the "My Posts" tab centered below the main line of tabs pretty much since DU3 went up, and it worked fine until just a few minutes ago.

What happened? I want the big display so I can sit back!

edit - seems back to normal this morning, not sure why but glad to have it. it was just a minor thing, but it was still a little irritating.

But if it has worked in the past I think it may be a DU problem.

I just tried it in FF, IronBrowser and IE and when I enlarged the fonts to the point that the My Posts tab disappeared it neither went to a second row or gave me a slider at the bottom of the screen to "scroll" over to that tab. So yeah it disappears at large fonts.

Let's see if anyone comes up with possible reasons.

otherwise I wouldn't be so lost checking on replies.

thanks for yours, by the way. I will see if anybody else has any ideas and then maybe post a link in ATA about it tomorrow or the next day. (or maybe it will solve itself in the meantime, like making an appt at the car mechanic and the funny noise immediately goes away)

I always assume it is me, but I would have posted in ATA eventually if it didn't resolve somehow

K-Meleon, the wording in the tabs does not change size, as everything else is made bigger, so the tabs are not affected.

I'm thinking that DU has done something.
