A great help with my previous problem re piggybacking friend's weak wi-fi signal
If you read the previous thread you know how I was tearing my hair out over this. In agony for a week at least; best scenario had my beloved Chrome browser dropping the connection every 15-20 minutes. Try shopping or researching with that!
Finally a primary truth returned to my fevered brain: When nothing else works, try changing browsers. So for now, while I guest from afar, it looks like FireFox will be my browser. I can return to my first love later. Meanwhile, I've been online with this weak signal for a couple hours now, and not one single disconnect.
I still hate the lousy signal booster I bought, though. With a strong signal that I was promised, none of this would have happened and I'd still be cuddled up with Chrome and not so far behind in all my reading etc.
Just rem ember to try changing browsers when nothing else works. Doesn't always help but this time it did. It's best to keep an extra browser downloaded and ready to install in case the primary choice fails. Do you really want to spend $ on an installation disc if they're even still available?

(68,644 posts)Chrome is slow and I don't trust Google with my Data, so use Firefox mostly.
Safari is a bit slow, and Sea Monkey has a good mail client.
