The last thing I wanted to do today is drive across town during rush hour.

We had a power blip and now the one UPS keeps cycling on and off every 5 seconds. Tried unplugging and plugging back in-no go. I've had problems with that one before, it's about 5 years old.
So I get to make a 40 mile round trip during the evening rush .

AARRGGHH!!

Don't know. It's about 5 years old so the battery may be crapping out. hobbit709 Aug 2013 #5
Do you have experience with other brands of UPS? discntnt_irny_srcsm Aug 2013 #6

I was afraid of that. I have one that's acted a bit wonky now and then. I wasn't sure whether to attribute to the design or maybe the battery.

Any thoughts?

After I left it off for an hour it started working fine again. But I'm still going to get a new one and relegating this one to secondary duties.

Sorry... could not help my self. Maybe you should invest in a IP Managed Remote Power Switch - not sure if it would have helped in your situation. Or maybe you could build a Arduino circuit to trigger the Reset button, powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery? Anything to save you 40 miles of drive time!
