cross posting
My computer keeps up dating micro-squish every time I shut down for the last 4 days. Three up dates. Both computers.
Sunday, they sent 14 updates to my computers (both running Win 7), the next 3 days, they keep loading 3 new or reloading 3 which are failing to push back a desired result.
Anybody got a clue as to cause?
Yeah I'm running anti-tracking software and S&D. Oh yeah, I can only view the Daily show and Cobert until the first commercial pause, then the video refuses to advance

(This is for windows 7 too - it's just mislabeled as Vista - Try a manual install of the specific update that's crashing)

(41,694 posts)Check for updates, but let me choose.
Then you can let it update when you want it to and not when it feels like it.

(8,021 posts)There's a known issue with 3 patches put out as updates on Tuesday - they appear to install, but then Windows Update keeps wanting to install them again once it checks for updates.
They're KB 2760411, KB 2760588 and KB 2760583 for Office 2007.

I had this problem yesterday - my workaround was to hide the updates so it doesn't try to install them. I figure Microsoft will get this sorted out and issue new patches.

(10,136 posts)second Tuesday of every month. They are slowly rolled out to users as to not overload the internet. Some of the patches get patched themselves, which takes a second call though the system.
On 9/10 I had 26 or so updates ready to be installed, mostly for MS Office 2007 and 2010.
You can change your Updates settings in the Control Panel. My preference is "auto download but I choose what/when to install".
