What's up with Adobe?????

I swear, for the life of me - I just can't figure out what is UP with this company and haven't really been able to figure it out! Seems to me like I am going along and reading .pdf files and all is well, never a problem - then - all of a sudden - from out of the blue it seems - all previous files I had experienced using adobe suddenly just grinds to a halt.

Case in point: On a thread I referenced the Chris Hedges C-SPAN "In-Depth" interview aired 1-1-2012 without a snag. THEN - all of a sudden - like today - I go to link that thread and I can't unless I *upgrade* something or other (which based on past experience like - takes up a BUNCH OF MEMORY ON MY COMPUTER!!!!)

What the heck is UP WITH THIS????? Any ideas - anyone?

Somethin' somethin' is fishy here according to my nostrils! I Just don't get it!

What's their gig? Never really quite understood what they were all about to begin with!

Ideas/advice? (Thanks in advance)

Oi!

Foxit is working so much better than stupid Adobe, which I'd been having major issues with for some time.

Thanks for this tip!

Adobe and it turned out I hadn't updated to the latest reader and the Firefox Adobe plugin wouldn't work with the older version. I updated to, I think it was Adobe Reader 10, and all was okay.

I've been using XChange Viewer for about a year - it's great. The free version lets me do basic markups and annotations. Everything I need.

Thanks for all the responses. Though I still DO NOT UNDERSTAND JUST WHY I CAN NOT access a simple C-SPAN Video???

Just now, I tried to access (and post) an interview on C-SPAN with Ted Turner: Renewable & Alternative Energy which aired 4-19-2011 to no avail.

About an hour, 2 minutes....still no dice?

I tried to download the latest adobe in order to get it to open it...MORE than once - no luck!

This is really pi**ing me off!!!!

Go to add/remove programs in control panel, uninstall everything and start over fresh. I saw that solution to Adobe problems in the Craiglist forums. I, for one, can't understand why this buggy software is still around. I don't have any problem with any other kind of text file. If I try to view a pdf online, it will download 3/4 of the way and then stop. I have to download the pdf to my computer if I want to open it.

put FF in safe mode and disabled all of the plugins and add-ons. So, I decided to scan my computer with Norton 360. Once the scan was complete I found 5 viruses that were associated with the Adobe extension.

I think I will take everyone's opinion about Foxit to heart and keep Adobe at a distance.
