Having trouble with a Lenovo all-in-one C440 right out of the box
It is wireless enabled. I had a laptop that used a Verizon hot spot for internet access. The hot spot is about a year old. I have been having trouble with internet connectivity using this hot spot with the Lenovo ever since I turned on the computer for the first time a few days ago. On the available networks it will show "Limited" on the Verizon hot spot when I lose the connection.
The hot spot has worked flawlessly with my 5 year old laptop ever since I bought it. It still does.
We also have DSL wifi in our home. The Lenovo works well with it. I'm thinking about upgrading our DSL to faster service and just using that. I bought the hot spot because my wife and I overloaded our DSL service between our computers. I would sometimes lose the signal.
I've looked on the web for possible solutions and tried everything I understood how to do. I did something called a stack repair. I updated the WLAN driver. I updated the network adapters. I looked for updates for my hot spot. I refreshed the computer and started all over. The computer actually worked well for a day with the hot spot after I updated the WLAN driver. All I did was turn the computer off and turn it on again the next morning and I had the same problem.
I called customer service and they said to take the computer back to the store. I told them my problem and they were just absolutely no help at all. Other than the problem I'm having, I like the computer and would like to fix it and keep it if I can.

(10,418 posts)I gave up. I called the people we have DSL service with and upgraded our service to the fastest available. It's an extra ten bucks a month. I'm going to cancel the mobile broadband. I no longer need mobile service anyway. No more headaches and it will be a net savings of $40 a month.

What is the model number of the hotspot?
I know the computer is new, and I don't know what you have available, but it sounds like you are marching through all the standard stuff. I haven't heard you say that you removed the adapter in computer mgr and re-added it, but that's a longshot. Sometimes there is something that is wrong, but in very, very general terms, unless something is really off, there is almost nothing you are going to improve by changing settings in your software - usually that is for improving an already working connection. Not always, but generally. They are designed to connect out of the box, and, assuming a good install, etc, it is most likely either an incomparability or a hardware problem, most of may not be that easy to solve. Switching it with another at the store might tell you something.
When you say you refreshed the computer and started over I assume that means you ran the restore from their partition?

If you have not gotten anywhere after all you have done...if it were mine and it was Windows 7, I would try 8.1 - or if 8.1 try Windows 7, just to see if it is the same. I would also try and come up with a different network adapter. I might even install Linux to see if it does any better. Well, I would probably install linux anyway, but that's just .
Just trying to widen the possibilities of what you might try - I know you may or may not have that stuff available, or want to do this to a new machine.
Usually there is a factory restore partition, so if those things don't work, you can always start over.
