How many updates to iMac have there been?? It seems like I just updated two in the last couple of

weeks...... anyone else??

The most recent minor update for macOS Catalina (10.15.7) was released 11/5.

And then yesterday they let loose with the new macOS, Big Sur (11.0.1).

The bigger news (in case you missed it) was their starting to take orders for the new line of Macs that use the same CPU chip family as the iPhones/iPads. So the newest Macs are no longer "Intel Inside" but use a chip designed and made by Apple.

I'm seeing a lot of apps getting updated to support the new OS and chip sets.

Can't be bothered to update yet. let the bugs be squashed first.

might finally move to 10.15 in the next few weeks

But I also have a Shadow account, so I might be able to continue to play the Windows version - so no real risk.

If I was on Windows, its even worse. Constant updates, daily.

In the past, I would update immediately.

These days, if I was a security professional or administrator of a set of computers, I would do a download on a test computer first.

I prefer to let the rest of you be the test subjects.

I remember in the 90s, before PC went to Windows, users had to update each year: 286, 386, 486... or something, and I was glad to have the old Mac SE. Of course, this before we all started going online.

I had to get the new iMac two years ago because could no longer update that could not access some web sites.

So.. keeping my fingers crossed.
