About Us Democrats

Much of this borrowed from here: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/10/12/5-facts-about-democrats/

1. We are getting more liberal, based on the fact that more of us self identify as liberal. "Today, 94% of Democrats are to the left of the median Republican, and 92% of Republicans are to the right of the median Democrat." My personal opinion is that the "conservative" vilification of the word "liberal" has passed the point of diminishing returns. I, personally, have always self identified as liberal and I say good riddance to that "conservative" effort.

2. We overwhelmingly approve of President Obama. "... Democrats are overwhelmingly supportive of the president. Fully 83% of Democrats approve of the way Obama is handling his job, compared with 43% of independents and just 9% of Republicans." This proves that 83% of Democrats are smart, while 17% are stupid. Only 43% of independents are smart. 91% of Republicans are stupid.

Just calling it as I see it. Seems to me this explains a lot.

3. Democratic voters want the next president to continue PBO's policies. Hell yes we do, and 83% of us are smart. 17% are stupid.

I would vote for PBO again, hands down.

4. Democratic voters are ideologically divided over going after big banks. I am divided on this. It's really not my priority. I want to see no more wars and no more tax cuts for billionaires. I want good judges. I would love to see the minimum wage raised to $15 or better. I want to see infrastructure and education fully funded. I want to see the ACA improved with a public option. Basically those 300 plus bills that Republicans filibustered during President Obama's first two years...let's have them. I could go on, but that's the basic idea.

5. Democratic voters are also divided on whether it’s more important for a presidential candidate to have “experience” or “new ideas.” I like experience, no quotes. New ideas are great but hey, it's Congress that makes the laws.
