Hard vs. soft swing states

Hard vs. soft swing states

-snip-

The soft swing states vary according to who’s doing the assessment. They show up on a few lists but not on others. Several of them could probably qualify as hard states; what distinguishes this group is the belief that they lean slightly more toward one party than the hard states do.

Here's the breakdown:

Hard swing states (7): Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia.

Soft swing states (4): New Mexico, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin.

There’s one more category worth noting – call it “on the bubble.” States from this group – which include Arizona, Michigan, and Missouri – are occasionally referred to as swing states but there’s a great deal of skepticism about whether they are actually in play. Arizona and Missouri are generally viewed as having a distinct Republican lean; Michigan is viewed as having a distinct Democratic lean.

The DeVos family (criminal pyramid scheme AmWay fundementalist idiots -- in-laws own the infamous Black Water, also in Michigan) runs the Repukes here. Nobody gets to be a Repukes delegate here unless they are vetted for religious purity. This started during Pat Robertson's candidacy, when he used MI as his model for taking over political control. It worked well enough for the model to be repeated throughout the country.

Face it, folks. The Republicans, and especially the religious right, are better at organizing than Dems are. They don't have to herd cats, like Dems do.

We all have to work hard. Our opposition is very good at manipulating the media and the electorate.

We've gotta get 'er done. That means working hard, very hard.

Do not count MI in the Dem column. Where I live, it clearly isn't.
