That's what they are!

"Shutting down the government to get your way over an unrelated piece of legislation is the political equivalent of throwing a temper tantrum. It is just not helpful," said Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK),

Go Obama~

Great post Cha~

I found out some relevant info on another thread.. i.e. Social Security checks don't stop if the government shuts down..

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=3744621

And, I did some more research and found this..

Shutdown: Benefits

"Would Social Security checks still go out? If the checks are stopped, would all monies due be paid eventually?

Because Social Security benefits are not subject to appropriation, the Social Security Administration has told the House Committee on Ways and Means that the checks would go out."

The Rest..

So, that's a relief!

Thank you for the info, I know that you are feeling a small sense of relief in that.

And, for all those milliions of others who would be so adversely affected!

Now it's Prayers and Positive Thoughts for those in Gov who will not get their paychecks if they go through with it.
