not likely to be able to get anything great, but will have my trusty phone.

this is what they call a 'gen 44' event, which is to say that they wish that old broads like me would stay home. trouble is it is old broads like me that have the money for the tickets, so too bad, i'm going.

I'm so jealous. How's the weather there - frightful? Will it be a pain in the rear getting there? Will parking be a nightmare?

Please, give me something to think, well, I'm glad I'm not doing that today. PLEASE???

sunny beautiful day, traffic will likely be unpleasant but well managed as always, and parking is $9, practically a steal by chicago standard, but stiff enough to keep the demand down.

if it makes you feel any better, i have a sore ankle. not quite healed from a break in october. standing is expected. why i will be driving. expect to limp home.

I've broken both heel bones. So I know what it's like to stand after a break.

it's a little where's waldo. find the pres on the rope line. but he is in there.
i would have had awesome and amazing pics from the speech, except that the lights were too bright. i do think i have a couple slightly shopable- prove that i was there, 20 ft away, no shit it's the president-type, but that will take a little longer.
soon

out of respect for those of you, like me, who hate to see people's blurry pictures on their facebook page, i will just post one and a link to the album. sad little pictures, but i was right there, 20' away, and it was cool.
fired up and ready to go again.

shot from the rope line-

a good quote-
"i find myself agreeing with something jack kennedy said- the most surprising thing he found out about washington dc was that it was as bad as he said it was before he got there."

but the real message that he pounded on was that the same old trickle down doesn't work, and never, ever has.

at one point i was starting to tune out a little, yeah, i heard this speech 50 times, then- doh! he's right there. barely the distance across my living room.
and hitting the right note, imho- the shit the gop is selling DOES NOT WORK. NEVER DID. NEVER WILL.
a winning message, imho.

Sounds like an experience I might have. Have sat through so many speeches it gets boring but, if it' someone really special, well that's worth nudging yourself for!
