Looking at the Post by Freshwest "Obama and the Democrats"

everything in those early days seemed so...I don't know the right words...like perhaps "unencumbered", by all the bull crap?

But what struck me even more, was the ballsy move on the part of the Dems to chose a black man as the Left Wing Representative to run for the highest office in the nation. We knew what we wanted, he had what we wanted, but we took a leap of faith that a majority of the nation would see past the color or at least be proud of the color brown.

In my first sentence I alluded to the encumbrances created by all the bullshit that have tainted the Office of the Presidency since the 2008 elections. The reality is that the crapping has been implemented by a very vocal minority, they sure have crapped all over the presidential experience of having a decent man, with high ideals serving the people. Too bad really.

I was also disappointed by how racist our country, even the RW, continues to be.

Still as proud as I could be that we won.

Twice!

have done an extraordinary amount of crapping all over the White House, Sheepshank. Thankfully there are so many many more who are appreciative of who we have in our Oval Office.

I never thought about what color Senator Obama was.. only that he was the best one for the job. I was unpleasantly surprised when I saw what the hatemongers were permeating the air waves with an attempt to sharpen the divide in our country.

And, they are so far from over it.. powerful people have a huge stake in fueling racism and bigotry.. it's an ugly ugly stain on America. the Shame is theirs.

I see the beauty in a persons soul, I have never judged a person by the color of their skin.

“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”

Though I did actually find a post criticizing the President for the bridge closure. I kid you not. I may try to find it.

I recall on the news the day after the 2008 election, Jessie Jackson saying white people had changed. He may have been right about the masses, but the vocal minority just got worse.

I swear, if these people ever admit to global warming, can you guess who they'll blame? He probably caused the Krakatoa volcano explosion in the 1800's too.

Say, maybe it's his fault that I can't find my car keys too. No, wait, that's right... I don't have a car anymore. He must've stolen it!

and while color means diddly squat to me on a personal level, I am certain that a contingent of the up-line politicos, those that can promote (or demote) a candidate had to have taken color into consideration. I honestly think there was a platform, a personality, a buzz about Obama that tipped the scales. But back to the vocal minority....never in a million years did I ever think that they would be so vocal, so obvious...lacking any shame in their bigotry. I had no idea people would not have any filter when it comes to this type of blatant racism. They don't even try to hide it. I really had no idea it could be this bad. And it's a minority of people that are making it seem this bad.

Two women passed behind me. The one I'd always thought better of was saying sympathetically to the other, "Yes, I know. He's not white like us, is he?"

Now this is such a whistle stop town that there are no black people around - who'd be stupid enough to come here? - and the only black man the locals ever complain about because he's almost the only one they know at all, is - wait for it! - that man in their WH. I was so disappointed in both women, but especially the one I'd thought was a little better sort.
