"You!" he says, jabbing his finger at me as he walks by without slowing.

It's been a rough few days of voter registration, cold and rainy, and hours of work didn't produce much on Sat or Sun. So this morning I'm outside at 7:45A in chilly drizzle, asking again "Are you registered to vote?"

"You!" he says, jabbing his finger at me as he walks by without slowing. "You hooked me up! I got my registration card with the Saturday mail! Thank you!"

Sometimes people remember the small efforts you make on their behalf. A while later, he passes in the opposite direction and thanks me again

It is most definitely a struggle but here we are..never giving up! Thank you for your GOTV which is extremely important and our hard earned right. The rw is trying to shut it down as is the profiteering left by saying .."it doesn't work". What are they afraid of?

Sometimes volunteering can remind us that people really are nice. Everything is so negative these days that it's a surprise when we see first hand that perfect strangers are cordial and funny and interesting.

Some of the finest people live in the less-than-affluent, as it were, neighborhoods.
