(50,130 posts)They absolutely hate her. And, true to their mysogenistic leanings, they demean her in ugly language. So racist, they are. So sour and ugly.
Great cartoon lays it out. Michelle is an all-American girl who grew into an empowered woman.

(22,541 posts)put her next to some Republican candidate and they'd absolutely LOVE her. Of course she'd never BE next to those assholes, but still. The cartoon is right. She has done everything they say they want people to do, what they want mothers to do. Yet she's black, so it'll never, ever be good enough.
That Moochelle bit covers a LOT of hatred. First, Muslim. Second, implies she's a cow, which dehumanizes her - something that racists have always done to African Americans, even to the point of codifying it. It also demeans her as a woman, implying that she's ugly and less important than a man. After all, to them women should be at home, silent and subservient.
Cow also implies fat and lazy, something racists and mysoginists have always implied about "welfare queens." That one word says SO MUCH about Republicans. Any woman, person of color, feminist, equality activist who doesn't get out and vote for Obama is absolutely clueless about how low they will go and how dangerous the Republicans are to our most basic freedoms.
We MUST help them understand. Thank you grasswire for pointing this out.

(50,130 posts)"mooch" implies that she is a product of "entitlements" and favors granted to her because of the color of her skin. Affirmative action burns them up. So does the fact that a black woman and her brood are living in the White House.
Of course they hated Hillary and they hate Nancy Pelosi too, and speak of them in ugly thug-ish language. But the racial component regarding Michelle Obama is particularly sickening.
Oh, and I don't think we can help them understand. They are what they are. We must call them on their language repeatedly. The Klan is still active.

You are so right. I actually fear Republican control of this govenment. If only we can stop the Republican obstruction in Congress, we can actually realize the "hope and change" we all voted for in 2008.
