Florida Man Sues Car Wash, Surprised It's Slippery When Wet

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man apparently surprised that a car wash may be slippery when wet is suing Motor City Carwash — 7366 Boynton Beach Boulevard.

According to the complaint reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Arthur Sotloff sustained “serious” injuries while having his car cleaned at the car wash on December 16th, 2020.

Among the allegations made in the suit:

“That on or about December 16, 2020, the Defendant, MOTOR CITY
CARWASH, INC., by and through its agents, employees, and/or servants, negligently and
carelessly maintained the above mentioned premises, to-wit: by allowing a dirty, slippery
substance to remain on the ground where patrons are expected to traverse, creating a
dangerous and hazardous condition, causing the Plaintiff, ARTHUR SOTLOFF, to fall and
seriously injure himself.”

“That the Defendant, MOTOR CITY CARWASH, INC., either knew or
should have known of the existence of the dangerous condition of the common area and
should have taken steps to warn the Plaintiff, ARTHUR SOTLOFF, of the existence of the
dangerous condition.” ...........(more)

Dude was apparently not walking through the working area of the place (where cars are actually being washed).

So, 'it's a car wash, duh', is not exculpatory, if you will.

IF there WERE the proper signs, then his case is weaker, obviously.
