Cats at pawfront of breading meme

Planking is toast - cats are at the pawfront of the internet's latest half-baked meme.

It started rising on the web last August and now has it's own Facebook page - dubbed in-bread - with more than 12,000 likes.

''Breading'', as the craze has become known, simply involves cutting a hole in your favourite piece of the daily staple and sticking it on your cat's head. Crumbs, you might say.

Gawker.com helpfully provides an easy guide for novices:

1.Take a piece of bread. If this is your first time, use a soft white bread. Experienced breaders will use rye or even multi-grain.

2. Cut a hole approximately 25mm larger than your cat's head. This trips some people up. Remember: the bread has to fit around the not just the cat's head, but its ears, too.

3. Gently place the bread around your cat's head.

4. Take a picture. Post it to the official in-bread cat Facebook page.

Then he'd stalk me and attack my ankles every time I moved around the house for the next week. I think I made a mistake showing him the Mean Kitty video when he was young.

My cat is just the opposite. He is just a love ball of fur. Likes to be held all the time. I adopted him from the a shelter and has turned out to be a wonderful pet. I spent about 2 hours at the shelter trying to find a nice cat. I was going to try for a young kitten however, the volunteer suggested an older cat since you know what your getting better than a kitten. Everyone likes a kitten but once they become adults you may have a cat that isn't as sociable as you would like. I took his advise and I have a wonderful companion.

But he and his litter mates had been found under someone's house. The mother was probably a feral so they didn't get any socialization before they were found. After I adopted him, I had major abdominal surgery so I couldn't hold him and pet him as much as I should have.

But this cat has been crazy all his life. He will be fine, sweet and loving, then suddenly his eyes go crossed and he will got bezerk. He has launched himself at us and inflicted some serious damage - I have scars to prove it!

But he is ours for life, no matter how nuts he is. Fortunately, now that he is nearly ten years old he is mellowing. He still goes nuts, but most of the time he is too lazy to be as aggressive as he used to be.

I love The Mean Kitty Song - Mean Kitty has his own YouTube channel and has a lot of other videos that are fun, too.
