Dumb Criminals: Indiana Man Looking For Dog Steals Bacon And Burns Neighbor's Flag

PERU, Ind. (WISH) - A 21-year-old Peru man was arrested after police say he drunkenly cut his neighbor's flag down from a pole and burned it in his backyard on Aug. 5.

Brett Bishop told police he got drunk and went into his neighbor's yard with a BB gun to get his dog. He told police officials that he stole frozen pork from the neighbor's freezer and slashed the tires of a vehicle in the garage.

Bishop told officials he remembered cutting down the flag, but didn't remember burning it. He went on to say he remembered burning his hand while trying to light something, but couldn't remember what that something was.
